<dc:title>GlobalTalentXwalk: A Crosswalk Between Global High-Level Research Talents and OpenAlex Author Identifiers, 2020-2024</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.gfr.00005</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description> This dataset provides author identifier crosswalks between three global rosters of high-level researchers and the open bibliographic database OpenAlex, covering data years 2020-2024: Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers (HCR), the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists, and Editors-in-Chief of SCIE/SSCI-indexed journals. The source rosters record only name and affiliation strings. This dataset matches those records to OpenAlex author and institution entities, assigning an OpenAlex author identifier to 234,624 researchers and providing 877,875 record-level matches at the researcher-roster-year level. Record-level match rates are 90.2% for HCR, 81.0% for the Stanford Top 2% list, and 81.0% for editors-in-chief. The identifiers can be joined to OpenAlex publication, citation, institution, and topic data. The bibliographic data are the OpenAlex distribution published by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS), Leiden University (August 2025 release). The dataset was produced as part of a study on fundamental research talent commissioned by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.</dc:description>
