<dc:title>Dataset of Key Biological Assemblages in High‑Fertility Black Soil</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.iga.001gb</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset is based on soil samples collected along a latitudinal gradient (43&amp;deg;14&amp;prime;47&amp;Prime; N &amp;ndash; 48&amp;deg;19&amp;prime;04&amp;Prime; N) in the black‑soil region of Northeast China. It systematically analyzes soil organic carbon‑pool composition, microbial community structure and their interactions under different mean annual temperature conditions. The dataset includes soil physicochemical properties, organic‑carbon fractions (particulate organic carbon and mineral‑associated organic carbon), diversity and composition of microbial communities, microbial life‑history‑strategy indicators (bacterial rrn copy number), fungal functional groups, and results of microbial co‑occurrence network analysis.

A total of six sampling sites were included in this dataset (Changtu CT, Kuancheng KC, Acheng AC, Beilin BL, Hailun HL, Bei&amp;rsquo;an BA), with nine replicates per site, yielding 54 soil samples in total. The sampling depth was 0&amp;ndash;20 cm, and sampling was conducted in mid‑July 2023. The dataset covers a mean‑annual‑temperature gradient ranging from 0.6 &amp;deg;C to 7.3 &amp;deg;C, representing typical farmland ecosystems in the Northeast China black‑soil region. All samples were collected from maize fields under conventional farming management to ensure consistent agricultural practices across sites.

**Data precision**: Standard analytical methods were adopted for measuring soil physicochemical indices; the precision of the carbon‑nitrogen elemental analyzer reaches 0.001 %. High‑throughput sequencing was performed on the Illumina NovaSeq PE300 platform. Sequencing depths were normalized to 12 000 reads for the bacterial 16S rRNA gene V4‑V5 region and 10 000 reads for the fungal ITS1 region. Annotation of microbial life‑history‑strategy indicators for rrn copy number was performed using the rrnDB database (v5.4).</dc:description>
