<dc:title>30 m resolution coastal wetland change dataset on the west coast of the Korean Peninsula (2010)</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.iga.00989</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>a. Data content (data file/table name, observation index content included)
This data includes a 30m resolution coastal wetland change data set on the west coast of the Korean Peninsula, which reflects the distribution of coastal wetlands on the west coast of the Korean Peninsula and provides data support for wetland protection on the west coast of the Korean Peninsula.
b. Construction purpose
Coastal wetland is a transitional zone between terrestrial ecosystem and marine ecosystem, which plays an important role in maintaining biodiversity, controlling pollution and carbon cycle; The coastal wetland ecosystem is extremely fragile due to the impact of the interaction of land and sea. Under the combined impact of climate change and human activities, monitoring coastal wetland change and understanding the driving mechanism are essential for sustainable coastal ecosystem management. The wetland on the west coast of the Korean Peninsula is also an important wetland around the Yellow Sea
It plays a very important role in the whole habitat network of migratory birds in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. Due to special historical reasons, the two countries with different political systems on the Korean Peninsula have experienced different economic and social development processes, making it the only coastal area in the world where two countries with different economies and systems coexist, which is bound to have different effects on the changes of coastal wetlands. The research results of long-time series of coastal wetlands can provide scientific support for the sustainable management of coastal wetlands on the Korean Peninsula, and provide spatial decision support for the protection of waterfowls and their habitats in the migration corridor between Northeast Asia and Australia.
c. Service object
It can widely serve scientific researchers in wetland protection, ecological monitoring and other related disciplines.
