<dc:title>A Floating Bed and Planting Method Suitable for Intercropping of Water Chestnut and Water Celery</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.iga.01194</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This invention discloses a floating bed and cultivation method for intercropping water bamboo (Coptis chinensis) and water celery (Apocynum venetum), comprising a floating bed substrate and planting pots. The substrate is centrally supported by a polyethylene mesh with four planting grooves for water bamboo pots. The method enables large-scale surface cultivation of both crops in advance. During the optimal planting period, water bamboo pots are placed in the grooves, while water celery seedlings are evenly distributed across the polyethylene mesh. The invention constructs a three-dimensional microbial habitat beneath the water, tailored to the root structures of different crops. This habitat not only provides an ideal environment for microbial survival and proliferation but also absorbs nitrogen and phosphorus from the water, preventing eutrophication. By leveraging the varying plant heights and light preferences (shade or sunlight) of the two vegetables, the system creates multi-layered photosynthesis, enhancing light utilization efficiency. This maximizes ecological benefits by effectively absorbing water nutrients and mitigating eutrophication.</dc:description>
