<dc:title>Constructing hybrid microorganism-material systems to improve pollutant bioremediation: Investigating the improved bioactivity and quorum sensing of a functional strain with acid-added microwave hydrochar</dc:title>

<dc:description>In this study, aiming at atrazine residue pollution, a microbial-material combined degradation system was constructed using the atrazine-degrading bacterium Paenarthrobacter sp. KN0901 and acid-modified microwave hydrochar. This system significantly improves the atrazine degradation efficiency. Its core mechanism involves enhancing the quorum sensing of the strain, upregulating the expression of degradation genes, and promoting hydrolase synthesis and biofilm formation, thereby increasing substrate uptake and degradation capacity. The system maintains high degradation efficiency under various stressful conditions including pH, temperature, salinity and heavy metals, providing a novel strategy for the bioremediation of atrazine contamination in complex environments.</dc:description>
