<dc:description>Meteorological elements are the primary driving factors for the formation, development, and characteristic differentiation of wetlands. The Yellow River Delta is characterized by intense land-sea interactions and serves as an ecologically vulnerable and sensitive region. Addressing the current scarcity of published vertical gradient observation data on meteorological elements in the coastal wetland ecosystem of the Yellow River Delta, this study utilized the automated meteorological observation system at the gradient meteorological observation field of the Yellow River Delta Ecology Research Station of Coastal Wetland of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Through data collection, processing, and quality control, we compiled 32 meteorological parameters from gradient observations in 2023, resulting in 11,680 entries of daily data. These include: Air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, vapor pressure, and dew point temperature at heights of 2 m, 4 m, 8 m, and 12 m above ground; Surface soil temperature and subsurface soil temperature at depths of 5 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, 40 cm, 60 cm, and 100 cm; Atmospheric pressure, photosynthetically active radiation, total radiation, precipitation, and sunshine duration at 2 m height. This compilation has established the 2023 Gradient Meteorological Observation Dataset for the Yellow River Delta, providing critical support for ecological conservation and high-quality development in the region.</dc:description>
