2026-05-21 The Horse Face Individual Recognition Dataset Collected at Zhaosu Horse Farm, Xinjiang, China doi:10.57760/sciencedb.j00001.01684 en The data was collected in August 2024 and November 2024 at the Zhaosu Racecourse in Xinjiang, covering individuals of multiple breeds of horses, mainly Yili horses. The images were all taken from unconstrained shooting scenes in natural stables. During the data collection process, different lighting conditions, shooting distances, changes in viewing angles, and differences in horse posture are comprehensively considered. The original samples are obtained through video capture and image frame extraction, and combined with similarity index screening to remove duplicates, automatic detection and cropping of horse face areas, and manual review processes to complete data organization and quality control. Horse face images are organized and stored by individuals, and each individual sample is stored in an independent folder with corresponding identity information.
