<dc:title>A dataset of muon flux distributions for building transmission imaging and open-sky reference measured with the μSight-2 detector</dc:title>

<dc:description>This dataset originates from a muon transmission imaging experiment using the μSight-2 detector, aiming to probe the structure of a target building with cosmic-ray muons in order to estimate its external dimensions. The dataset comprises two independent measurements of muon flux distributions: (1) the arrival-direction flux distribution of muons after traversing the building, recorded with the detector pointing toward the structure; and (2) the open-sky muon flux distribution measured in an unobstructed open area at an identical zenith angle configuration, serving as a reference. Both measurements were conducted under the same detector calibration conditions, with consistent angular resolution and energy threshold. The data can be used to calculate the muon transmission ratio in the directions penetrating the building, and further to invert the average mass thickness of the target building. </dc:description>
