<dc:description>objective Exploring the association between mitochondrial dysfunction in coronary artery endothelial cells and Nuclear factor of activated T Cell (NFAT) in a mouse model of Kawasaki disease. Methods Using the white Candida albicans water-soluble polysaccharide fragment (CAWS) to induce the preparation of a Kawasaki disease animal model in C57BL/6 mice, electron microscopy was used to induce the preparation of a Kawasaki disease animal model in C57BL/6 mice using the white Candida albicans water-soluble polysaccharide fragment (CAWS),Observation of mitochondrial pathological changes in coronary artery endothelial cells by electronic microscope; Real-time PCR was used to measure the mRNA expression levels of NFAT1 and NFAT2 in single-nucleus cells in peripheral blood of mice. Results Transmission electron microscopy results showed that in the experimental group, mitochondria exhibited significant swelling during the acute phase (3 days), accompanied by the formation of vacuoles and loosening of the matrix, with loss of internal structure; during the recovery phase (24 days), the swelling of mitochondria was reduced, internal cristae were visible, and some structures returned to normal. Real-time PCR results: Comparison with the control group: In the experimental group, the mRNA expression levels of NFAT1 and NFAT2 were significantly higher than the control group during the acute phase (3 days); however, during the recovery phase (24 days), the mRNA expression levels of NFAT1 and NFAT2 significantly decreased and showed no significant difference compared to the control group. Conclusions In Kawasaki disease mouse model, mitochondria and NFAT exhibit synchronicity in pathological changes and molecular expression, indicating their correlation and relevance to the occurrence and development of Kawasaki disease.</dc:description>
