2026-09-29 Original data of "Research on Government Data Openness and Cross regional Cooperation Innovation" doi:10.57760/sciencedb.j00289.000fg en This dataset is used to study the impact and mechanism of government data openness on cross regional collaborative innovation. The dataset is constructed based on multi-source heterogeneous data at the prefecture level in China, covering annual observation data of 289 prefecture level cities from 2006 to 2024. The dataset uses the launch of the local government data open platform as the measurement basis for government data openness. By constructing a double difference identification framework, the impact of government data openness policies on cross regional cooperative innovation is examined. The core explanatory variable is the innovation level of inter city cross regional cooperation. According to the patent data published by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, enterprises' joint patent applications in different places are identified and matched and summarized according to the cities where the cooperation subjects are located. After data cleaning, administrative division matching, variable construction, and missing processing, the panel database is finally formed.
