The authors of the dataset are Liu Yu, Zhang Liguang, Huo Wenyan, He Xuelian, Zhang Xiangqian, Ma Xinwang, Li Junzhi, He Xiaolong, Qi Jianzhao, Liu Bo, Qi Peng, Dai Lu, and Qiao Ting. The dataset was generated on December 25, 2025. It comprises a species checklist of 414 taxa, formatted in Microsoft Word. The research materials were derived from multiple field surveys and specimen collections conducted from 2020 to 2025 by three research teams from the Shaanxi Institute of Microbiology, Yan'an University, and Northwest A&F University in the middle section of the Qinling Mountains. Field surveys were carried out in April–October 2020, March–November 2021, March–November 2022, March–November 2023, March–November 2024, and May–December 2025, totaling 204 field surveys and 492 sampling days. Prior to specimen collection, the transect method was selected based on the topographical, climatic, and vegetation characteristics of the middle Qinling Mountains region. From 2020 to 2025, a total of 233 sampling and survey trips were conducted in the study area. Photographic documentation was performed for all collected specimens, and macroscopic morphological characteristics and habitat information were recorded in the field. The research specimens are deposited in the Qinling Fungarium of the Shaanxi Institute of Microbiology (SXIM) and the Herbarium of the School of Life Sciences, Yan'an University, comprising more than 2,833 specimens. In addition, this study also referenced previous fungal research in the middle section of the Qinling Mountains, Shaanxi, China (Qi et al. 2013; Zhang et al. 2016; Cao et al. 2019; Song et al. 2025; Huo et al. 2022; He et al. 2022).
