<dc:title>Single-Cell Morpho-Electric Dataset of Mouse PVN Oxytocin Neurons Across Sex, Anatomical Axis, and Feeding States</dc:title>

<dc:description>Oxytocin (OXT) neurons in the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus (PVN) play critical roles in neuroendocrine regulation and diverse behaviors, including feeding, social interaction, maternal care, and emotional processing. Although these neurons are conventionally classified as magnocellular (Magno-OXTn) or parvocellular (Parvo-OXTn), this binary framework insufficiently captures their true heterogeneity, and integrative datasets at the single-cell level remain scarce. To address this gap, we generated a curated morpho‑electric dataset of mouse PVN OXT neurons using adult Oxt-Cre; Ai3 mice of both sexes. The dataset comprises whole-cell patch-clamp recordings from 224 PVNOXT neurons obtained across fed, fasted, and refed conditions (10 males and 13 females). For 213 neurons of these neurons, we also provide biocytin-based morphological reconstructions and atlas-registered spatial annotations. In total, the release includes 29 electrophysiological and morphological features per cell, along with comprehensive metadata covering sex, feeding status, cell type, rostrocaudal position, PVN subdivision, quality control metrics, and subtype labels. Additionally, we supply a clustering-ready matrix for 203 neurons with complete data, as well as custom analysis scripts. This resource supports reproducible investigations of OXT neuron diversity, facilitates computational modeling, enables cross-sex and cross-state comparisons, and allows integration with transcriptomic or multimodal datasets. The accompanying Data Paper details the experimental procedures, metadata schema, validation strategies, and recommended reuse practices, thereby providing a robust foundation for future studies of hypothalamic circuitry and oxytocin system function.</dc:description>
