<dc:title>A Single-Nucleus RNA-seq Dataset of the Dorsal Raphe Nucleus Linked to Compulsive Cocaine-Taking Phenotypes</dc:title>

<dc:description>Cocaine use disorder is a chronic relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive drug take despite adverse outcomes. Although the dorsal raphe nucleus (DR) plays important roles in serotonin-mediated regulation of impulse control, behavioral flexibility, and compulsive drug-taking behavior, paired transcriptomic datasets linking DR molecular profiles with compulsive addiction phenotypes remain lacking. Here, we generated a matched DR single-nucleus RNA-seq (snRNA-seq) and behavioral dataset from a mouse punishment-resistant cocaine self-administration paradigm modeling compulsive drug taking. Animals were classified into perseverer (punishment-resistant), renouncer (punishment-sensitive), and naïve control groups. The dataset comprises raw sequencing reads, quality-controlled omics data, sample annotations, and raw behavioral metadata. This resource enables investigation of DR cellular composition, addiction-associated transcriptional programs, and molecular differences underlying distinct compulsive addiction phenotypes, providing a reference dataset for addiction neuroscience and integrative multi-omics studies.</dc:description>
