<dc:title>Isolation and identification of triterpenoids from Centella asiatica and their anti-skin photoaging activities-raw data</dc:title>

<dc:description>This study aims to investigate the triterpenoids from Centella asiatica (L.) Urb. and their in vitro anti-skin photoaging activities. The 70% methanol extract of C. asiatica was successively fractionated by D101 macroporous resin, further subdivided by silica gel column chromatography, and purified by ODS reversed-phase column, MCI and Sephadex LH-20 gel column．The structures of the isolated compounds were identified by mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. An in vitro photoaging model of HaCaT human keratinocytes was established using ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation, and this system was employed to screen the anti-skin photoaging activity of triterpenoids derived from C. asiatica . Eleven compounds were isolated from the 70% methanol extract of C. asiatica, including 2α-hydroxyursolic acid (1), asiaticoside D (2), centellasaponin C (3), 23-hydroxyursolic acid (4), asiaticoside F (5), isothankuniside (6), centelloside G (7), scheffoleoside A (8), 6β-hydroxymaslinic acid (9), 2α, 3β, 6β-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (10), and centellasaponin D (11). Compounds 1-4, 6, 9 and 10 significantly protected UVB-damaged HaCaT cells at a concentration of 1 μmol/L and significantly reduced the release of lactate dehydrogenase, demonstrating potential anti-skin photoaging activities. This dataset contains raw nuclear magnetic resonance data and activity data of 11 compounds in centella asiatica </dc:description>
