<dc:title>Raw EEG Data for the Neural Mechanisms of Average Orientation Representation</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.psych.00739</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>This dataset contains raw data from a study that used electroencephalography (EEG) techniques and neural adaptation paradigms to explore the neural mechanisms of average representation. The core issue of the study is the processing time of average representation (whether it is an early or late process) and the role of the primary visual cortex (V1) in it. This study adopted a 2 &amp;times; 2 in subject design and successfully separated the confusion between pure average representational neural activity and cumulative effects of stimulus quantity by matching the number of stimuli under adaptive and control conditions. The data results showed that an early C1 adaptation effect originating from V1 appeared within 100 milliseconds of stimulus presentation, followed by a late N2 adaptation effect related to top-down feedback observed 300 milliseconds later. This dataset provides valuable neurophysiological data for understanding how the visual system efficiently represents the external world, particularly providing an integrated perspective for the &amp;quot;early&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;late&amp;quot; processing controversies of average representation. The data was collected from 27 healthy subjects (excluding 3 individuals) in the format of raw EEG data, which can be used for event-related potential (ERP) analysis, time-frequency analysis, etc.&amp;nbsp;</dc:description>
