<dc:title>Observational Analysis of Magnetopause Reconnection and Compression Processes</dc:title>
  <dc:identifier>doi:10.57760/sciencedb.space.03780</dc:identifier>
  <dc:language>en</dc:language>
<dc:description>The magnetopause serves as the outer boundary of Earth's magnetosphere and plays a critical role in the exchange of mass and energy between the solar wind and Earth. Consequently, observational studies of magnetopause processes are of great significance for understanding solar-terrestrial space environment coupling. This dataset compiles my published academic papers in this research area.Physical processes at the magnetopause are closely tied to solar wind conditions. When the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) carried by the solar wind turns southward, magnetic reconnection is triggered at the magnetopause. The primary hallmarks of magnetic reconnection include the conversion of magnetic energy into plasma kinetic energy and the formation of open magnetic field lines across the magnetopause. This enables mass and energy transport from the solar wind to Earth, playing a vital role in solar-terrestrial coupling and the geospace environment. The dataset focus on: (1) external environmental factors, particularly the effects of magnetic and plasma flow velocity shears, as well as heavy ion effects on magnetic reconnection; and (2) the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of magnetopause compression processes during extreme solar wind conditions.</dc:description>
