<dc:title>Research Landscape and Hotspots of Acute Pancreatitis-Associated ARDS: A Bibliometric Visualization Study</dc:title>

<dc:description>Objective To reveal research trends in acute pancreatitis-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and provide future perspectives for studies in this field. Methods Bibliometric methods were employed using CiteSpace, bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and Pajek software to analyze the quantity, publication trends, authors, national/institutional contributions, and keywords of relevant literature from the CNKI, Wanfang Medical Network, and Web of Science databases. Visualization was performed using mapping tools. Results A total of 1,324 Chinese-language publications (1952–2024) and 1,448 English-language publications (1995–2024) were included. Chinese publications reached their peak in 2010 and subsequently declined, while English publications exhibited sustained growth, with contributions from China showing a continuous upward trend in international databases. In English databases, China (562 publications), the United States (203), and Germany (80) were the top contributors by volume, while the countries with the most international collaborations were the United States (124 collaborations), China (93), and the United Kingdom (68). Austria had the highest average citations per publication (169.0), whereas China’s publications had relatively lower citation rates (18.6, ranked 35th). Keyword analysis revealed that Chinese studies focused on innovation and optimization of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, while English studies emphasized biological and molecular mechanisms. Conclusion Research on acute pancreatitis-associated ARDS is substantial in volume. Chinese scholars increasingly publish in international journals, yet face challenges in balancing quantity with quality. Distinct differences exist in research hotspots between domestic and international databases. Future studies should prioritize multidisciplinary integration, global collaboration, exploration of traditional Chinese medicine, and utilization of emerging technologies.</dc:description>
