<dc:title>The Role of Gut Microbiota Dysbiosis in Pesticide-Induced Acute Kidney Injury: A Review</dc:title>

<dc:description>Pesticide poisoning is a common public health issue worldwide. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is one of the common complications of pesticide poisoning. In recent years, a growing body of research has shown that the gut-kidney axis plays a significant role in the occurrence and progression of AKI. Some pesticide exposures not only directly damage the kidneys but can also disrupt the composition and function of the gut microbiota, leading to impaired intestinal barrier function, exacerbated inflammatory responses, and metabolic imbalances, thereby indirectly aggravating kidney injury. As a key regulator of the gut-kidney axis, the gut microbiota influences the pathological process of AKI by modulating signal transmission between the gut and the kidneys. This article systematically summarizes recent research progress on gut microbiota dysbiosis induced by pesticide poisoning and its association with AKI, explores the mechanisms of the gut-kidney axis in AKI, and preliminarily discusses the potential applications of gut microbiota in the treatment of acute kidney injury following pesticide poisoning.</dc:description>
